Systems Development Manager required by my Local Government Client to manage the provision of effective support and systems/information across the council. The role requires 3+ years current commercial experience of systems engineering, maintaining hosted infrastructure and network environments. The candidate will need strong Linux skills, with knowledge of Solaris and Windows 2000/XP a benefit. Minimum of 3 years experience as a systems engineer in a hosted/NOC environment ideally with an ISP type background. My Client a Global Managed Web Security firm is seeking a Database Administrator/Engineer to join their Operations Team and develop and maintain their ever growing Global Database architecture. (Linux, DBA, SQL, Oracle 10g, SAN) The role requires 3+ years current commercial experience of database administration supporting primarily Oracle Enterprise technologies (Replication/Grid/10g) across physically disparate datacenters and locations. A strong focus on backup/DR skills along with many-multi Terabyte storage architectures is desirable. The current role is primarily Operations focused with the opportunity to assist the Hardware Engineering Team in design and build of future Database architectures as well as assisting with our in-house Enterprise Development Team. The successful candidate will also be part of the escalation point for all database related issues. The successful candidate must have the ability to work to deadlines and pressure when the need arises and possess excellent communication skills both verbally and written. Some 24 Hour support may also be required on an ad-hoc basis. A degree is also desirable although not a key requirement as every candidate will be judged on experience. Oracle certification will be a distinct advantage. Essential Technical Skills:

  • Minimum of 3+ years experience as a LINUX DBA/database engineer or similar role.
  • Proven track record of maintaining Oracle database solutions Network Management and monitoring of all database related services.
